Madrasa student sued for rape, cyber crime

Satkhira, May 28 (bdnews24.com) –
A case has been filed against a youth at Patkelghata in Satkhira on charges of raping a schoolgirl, video recording the incident through mobile phone and uploading it on internet.

The rape victim, a 10th grade student of Patkelghata Girls School, filed the case against Tazul Islam, 26, son of Dr Ziad Ali of Patkelghata Bazaar, with police under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act of 2000 on Friday night.

Tazul is an Alim (similar status to general college level education system) 2nd year student of a local madrassa.

Patkelghata Police Station officer in charge Mohammad Helaluddin told bdnews24.com that Tazul developed a love affair with a schoolgirl of his neighbouring village Khorda around six months ago. While coming to the school, Tazul trickily took her to Satkhira town on Mar 25 saying they would marry there.

"Later, Tazul had an illicit sexual relationship with the girl and he took the video of their intimate relation through mobile phone. Later, he sent her back without marrying her."

As the schoolgirl pressed him to marry her, Helaluddin said the youth uploaded the video on the internet.

"We have already started a drive to arrest the rapist and recover the video from his possession," the police officer added.

The medical test of the victim was conducted on Saturday morning.
